Report A Crime
Emergency: 911 Non-Emergency: 712-279-6960
If you are trying to report an in-progress crime, call 911 for emergencies or 712-279-6960 non-emergencies.
Emergency calls are active incidents in which someone needs immediate medical attention, there is an active threat to people’s safety, or there is something happening that needs immediate attention for public safety.
Call the non-emergency number to report minor accidents, burglaries or thefts, make complaints about threats or assaults, or any other incident that does not endanger public safety.
Due to the way that investigations are conducted, we cannot take most crime reports over the over phone or internet and we cannot take any via social media.
If you wish to make an anonymous tip about a crime, call Crime Stoppers at 712-258-TIPS (8477). Cash rewards are available for tips leading to an arrest. You can also leave a tip online through the Crime Stoppers page at www.siouxcitypolice.com/crimestoppers.
At this time, we no longer have an online reporting system. Please call the 712-279-6960 to discuss options to file a report with an officer or over the phone.
